The Coffee Morning on 13 May was a great success. Over £200 was raised for the Cornwall Hospice Trust through donations and the raffle. The home made cakes were a great hit and the raffle table was groaning with generously donated goodies.
Many thanks to the Institute for generously allowing us to use the facilities for free, and to Gordon and Lorraine at the St. Aubyn Arms for their donation of a voucher for a free Sunday lunch to the raffle.
Judy Lawton of the Cornwall Hospice Trust visited us on 12 June and was presented with the cheque by Vice President Joan Cafferky.
Also at the June meeting we had the pleasure of a thoroughly enjoyable talk from Andrew Mills of Burncoose Nurseries on ‘Going For Gold At Chelsea’. It was just as interesting to me, a very beginner gardener, as to the experienced gardeners in the audience.
Congratulations to Lisa Prout for winning the grand prize for most points earned by a single competitor at Nancegollan Show! I had a chance to look round before the show opened, and I was blown away by the high standard of the entries as well as by how much work must have gone into them.
Praze Cricket Club Gala Week and Praze Fair Show are coming soon! So far I have managed to make… a handmade card. Well, I say make, I haven’t assembled it yet. I think other members may be further on than me with their plans…
Hoping to see you all at our next meeting on 10 July!
